My daughter joined Marion Abbott's Performing Arts Studio in the fall of 2006 because her cousin went there. Jessica was an incredibly shy 6 year old little girl who did not like to talk to anyone, let alone

I wanted
to share my experiences as the parent of a child attending Marion
Abbott's Performing Arts Studio over the past two years. My son,
who was 10 at the time, came very reluctantly to his first lesson
at the studio. I had visions of paying for the term and having
to drag him to all his lessons...

FROM STUDENTS:
I'm new
to the studio this year and was a little worried and nervous starting
out but even on my first day at Marion's, i was warmfully greeted
and everyone was super nice. It's only been a few months since
i started but I already count down the days when i get to go to
the studio again. Whenever you're having a bad day, just take
some time at the studio and all your problems seem to go away.
You become part of a new amazing family!<3

My
favourite moment at MAPAS was playing the role of Dorothy in The
Wiz. The cast was amazing and it was a great experience. It also
helped me alot with my confidence, stage presence and character
building skills. At times it felt difficult to play the role of
the only sane person in a world of wacky and fun characters. Altogether
it was an amazing experience and I had SO MUCH FUN! :) - Rhiannon
I've been to MAPAS for 2 summer camps and loved it. I think the
reason I like it so much is that I get to have fun while learning
to be better at what I love to do: acting. Here, nobody is taking
him or herself seriously. It is always about getting our act together
and creating something. Everyone helps everyone and I am respected
for who I am. Here, I can be whoever I want to be. No matter what
I do, I always know I'm going to have fun and make friends along
the way. That is what I love about MAPAS: having fun no matter
what! -Eugenie
My favourite show I did at MAPAS was You're A Good Man, Charlie
Brown. This was my favourite show because it was a comedic show
and I love comedy. I also liked it because the cast was small
and older so the rehearsals were more productive. I also was,
or made good friends, with all of the cast members. Not the mention
the fact that I got paid! :) So that's why You're A Good Man,
Charlie Brown was my favourite show at MAPAS. -

I've learned, throughout my years at MAPAS, the importance of
a team effort. In order for a cast to co-exist as a team, everybody
has to pull their own weight. I was taught that a team is about
the whole cast working together, not individual people on stage
saying their lines. I think that this is an important life lesson
learned at MAPAS. - Robert
The best MAPAS production I was a part of was Cinderella. This
is because that first of all we had awesome costumes. And even
though I had one costume, it was such a beautiful dress. I'm still
glad I got to wear it. Second, we got to learn how to dance the
Waltz and some other kids learned other dances too, so in the
end there was a few dances I was in and a few that I could watch.
And third of all, I had such a great director and everyone else
who helped with the show and also great people in the cast! -
